Digimagaz.com – In a bid to bolster their midfield options, Liverpool FC is on the brink of securing the services of Wataru Endo from German side Stuttgart. The 30-year-old midfielder, known for his robust tackling and relentless work ethic, has emerged as a prime target for the Reds after their pursuits of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia were thwarted by external factors.

Endo’s journey to this impending move began in 2019 when he initially joined Stuttgart on loan from his parent club. The loan spell proved to be a stepping stone, leading to a permanent transfer in 2020. During his time with the German club, Endo etched his name in the annals of Stuttgart’s history, amassing an impressive tally of 133 appearances and finding the back of the net 15 times. His contributions were not limited to the scoreboard; he also captained the side, showcasing his leadership qualities both on and off the pitch.

Perhaps most notably, Endo’s presence played a pivotal role in Stuttgart’s successful battles against relegation from the Bundesliga in consecutive seasons. His tenacity and defensive prowess have been instrumental in solidifying the team’s midfield and ensuring their top-flight status.

Crystal Palace had previously expressed their interest in the Japanese midfielder, considering a potential move to secure his services in the January transfer window. However, it seems Liverpool has outmaneuvered the London club in their pursuit of Endo, aiming to address their need for a defensive midfield presence.

This move comes on the heels of Liverpool’s disappointment in their attempts to acquire Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. Both deals were seemingly hijacked by Chelsea, leaving the Merseyside club scrambling to find alternatives to bolster their midfield options. The acquisitions of Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister from RB Leipzig and Brighton, respectively, showcased Liverpool’s ambitions to strengthen their squad; however, the lack of success in securing Caicedo and Lavia has highlighted their need for reinforcements in the midfield department.

The upcoming transfer of Wataru Endo could provide Jurgen Klopp’s side with the much-needed steel in their midfield lineup. Liverpool has also been linked with other potential signings, including Sofyan Amrabat and Ryan Gravenberch. The club, which still retains two non-homegrown spots in their Premier League squad, is actively exploring options to bolster their roster for the upcoming season.

As negotiations between Liverpool and Stuttgart progress, the Anfield faithful will be hopeful that Wataru Endo’s imminent arrival can bring stability and tenacity to their midfield, ultimately contributing to their pursuit of domestic and international honors in the upcoming season.
