Digimagaz.com – David De Gea has officially parted ways with Manchester United, even though his contract expired on June 30. De Gea has finally left Old Trafford.

This is as reported by the club’s official announcement. Manchester United have finally let go of David De Gea, after 12 years the man from Spain has been in charge of the Red Devils.

“David leaves United with the deepest respect and warmest appreciation. David set new club records for goalkeeping appearances and clean sheets, surpassing Alex Stepney and Peter Schmeichel respectively, showing what a player he was to us,” club statement.

“He will be missed by all of us who worked together over the last 12 years. David will always be part of the Manchester United family and we look forward to welcoming him back to Old Trafford in the future as a club legend.”

David De Gea also gave his farewell via his personal social media. De Gea feels lucky to be playing for Manchester United.

“I want to say thank you and great appreciation for the love for the last 12 years. We have achieved a lot since Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club. And there is immense pride every time I pull on this shirt, to lead a team, to represent this institution, the biggest club in the world is an honor only given to a few lucky players,” he wrote.

David De Gea is one of the legacy players from the era of the legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson. De Gea was bought by Manchester United from Atletico Madrid in 2011.

De Gea made 545 appearances in all competitions. He won four titles (plus four Community Shield titles), including winning the Premier League title once in 2013.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper was actually rumored to be re-signed by MU. However, MU is known to be targeting Andre Onana, Inter Milan’s goalkeeper, to become De Gea’s successor.
